I could have sworn Pixar's Renderman was used for the Final Rendering to Film
for Jurassic Park. Pixar chalks another one up.. Speaking of which, It might be
in NewTek's best interest to develop a path to generate "good" RIB output from
Layout to RenderMan ( can you say plug-in? ). Its not all that different from
the VRML output already impemented, and of MUCH more use. When's the last time
you've seen VRML used for anything usefull? Also, it is interesting that all of
the packages used in Hollywood's best and brightest films have used Alias and
Softimage to do modeling and animation work but All of them seem to use
RenderMan for doing the final rendering. I wonder why that is? After all, Alias
and Softimage are supposed to have great renderers. Not to mention the great
LightWave renderer. Hmm, I think I see an industry trend here.. ( For Film at
